Volunteer Highlight: English Studies Institute Volunteers Make Our Farmers’ Market Events Festive

20160120volunteerIt’s a quieter time of year for us, which gives us time to recognize and appreciate some of the special folks who are part of our work during busier months. We are thrilled to recognize volunteers from our longstanding partners the English Studies Institute (ESI), a language school that provides high-quality English instruction and builds bridges of understanding world wide. ESI has been an amazing source of support for the Ecology Center Farmers’ Markets over the years. This past year, at our North Berkeley market reopening, ESI students made the event enjoyable for kids and parents alike, helping with face painting, hula hooping, and chalk drawing. They have also helped with our Family Fun Festival, Día de los Muertos celebration, and Holiday Craft Market for many years!
