The Ecology Center operates three certified farmers’ markets, located in Downtown Berkeley, North Berkeley, and South Berkeley. We are committed to supporting small-scale farmers who practice sustainable agriculture.

The Farmers’ Market EBT Program assists farmers’ market operators and community partners in establishing, implementing, and promoting CalFresh EBT access (the program formerly known as Food Stamps) at farmers’ markets.

Market Match is California’s healthy food incentive program, which matches customers’ CalFresh and WIC benefits at farmers’ markets. Market Match improves healthy food access, supports California’s small farms, and stimulates local economies.

CALIFORNIA ALLIANCE OF FARMERS’ MARKETS

The California Alliance of Farmers’ Markets is a coalition of farmers’ markets and partners convened by the Ecology Center. Through education, advocacy, and promotion, the Alliance works to ensure a robust economy for Certified Farmers’ Markets and help to connect all California residents to healthy, local, sustainably-grown food.

BERKELEY FOOD POLICY COUNCIL

The Ecology Center convenes the Berkeley Food Policy Council, a multi-sector coalition working to create a healthy and sustainable food system through replicable food policies and programs and linking this work to state and federal efforts.
