Thirsty Thursdays at the North Berkeley Farmers’ Market brings local wine, craft beer, food, live entertainment, interactive activities, local business participation, artisan and nonprofit vendors, and more to the The Ecology Center Farmers’ Market every Thursday (October 12, 19, 26; November 2, 9) from 3pm to 7pm. As a family-friendly gathering place, Thirsty Thursdays features something for everyone — outdoor dining, locally-made wares, games for all ages, discounts for Cal students and faculty, dancing and live music, seasonal produce from local farms — all with an ecologically responsible mission.
The North Berkeley Farmers’ Market is among the longest running, most successful and recognizable in the region, and it is centered in one of the most cherished, walkable neighborhoods surrounded by world-class eateries, boutique retailers, and personal service providers. With Thirsty Thursdays, the neighborhood and surrounding communities are invited to join in an autumn harvest celebration, and are encouraged to linger a little longer in the North Shattuck business district, taking away treasured Berkeley memories.
Though each Thursday in the series will offer a unique vibe, October 26 will feature a Halloween Dance Party for the kids and their families along with Trick-or-Treating at neighborhood merchant businesses. DJ Danny Santos will spin Halloween classics, kids can get crafty, best costumes will be awarded, and candy will be plentiful from 4pm to 6pm.
Find Autumn flavors at the North Berkeley Farmers’ Market and then elevate the experience by sampling local beers and wines, dancing to regional bands, meeting neighbors over lawn games and fun activities, and exploring the district with other conscious consumers.
