Climate & Policy

The Ecology Center helps communities prevent and prepare for climate impacts, bringing people together to build resilient cities while advancing policies that reduce emissions, hold systems accountable, and drive lasting, equitable change.

Connecting community-led solutions with the policies needed to scale them.

The Ecology Center’s Climate & Policy work connects community-led solutions with the policies needed to scale them. We help communities prepare for climate impacts by bringing people together to build more resilient, responsive, and equitable systems.

Our work centers those most impacted by climate change, ensuring that frontline communities have a voice in shaping the policies and plans that affect their lives. Through collaborative processes, public engagement, and technical support, we help translate community priorities into actionable strategies that advance climate resilience, environmental health, and long-term sustainability.

Beyond local implementation, we engage in policy advocacy to address the root causes of climate change and environmental harm. We work to advance stronger standards, increase accountability, and shift systems away from extractive practices toward models that prioritize community well-being and ecological balance.

Grounded in climate equity, our approach moves from local solutions to broader systems change, helping to create policies and practices that work toward zero waste, strengthen communities, and support a more sustainable and resilient future.
