Berkeley Farmers’ Markets
Building a stronger local food system through farmers’ markets.
The Berkeley Farmers’ Markets create vibrant public spaces where local farmers and food producers can thrive, and community members can access fresh, seasonal food. More than places to shop, the markets strengthen local economies, support sustainable farms, and build community resilience.
Each week, the farmers’ markets bring neighbors together to buy directly from growers, learn where their food comes from, and participate in a more transparent and connected food system. Programs like CalFresh and Market Match expand access to fresh, healthy food, ensuring that families of all income levels can benefit while supporting local farmers and food producers.
Through partnerships, outreach, and statewide leadership, the Berkeley Farmers’ Markets continue to advance a food system that is equitable, resilient, and rooted in environmental stewardship.

Open-air marketplaces where California farmers bring fresh, locally-grown produce and farm-processed foods to sell directly to consumers.
Our markets feature fruits, vegetables, nuts, baked goods, jams and preserves, juices, olive oils, meat, cheese, prepared foods, nursery plants, and flowers. We are committed to supporting small-scale farmers who practice sustainable agriculture.
In addition, we always accept CalFresh EBT and WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) checks, and offer Market Match at each of our markets.
