Vang Family Farm

First generation farmer Bentley Vang, was raised in a farming family in Laos and moved to the United States in 1976. Soon after that he and his wife Ying Lee began growing vegetables and selling them at farmers’ markets. He first joined the Ecology Center Farmers’ Markets in 2004, and the stand has been at the market ever since. In 2017, Bentley passed the torch to his son Chai Vang, who now comes to the Saturday market with his wife Payang.

Vang Family Farm has a keystone presence at the market due to the incredible diversity of both the produce and the communities it serves. The Vangs feel that both the crop mix and spirit of the farm are inextricably connected with their farmers’ market customers. The mix and range of crops they grow increased over time including many heritage products which cannot be found anywhere else.
