Pomo Tierra Orchard

Pomo Tierra is a collective established in 1971, located in the Anderson Valley, in the gentle rolling hills of Mendocino County. The 80-acre property is home to a historic Gravenstein apple orchard with trees planted around the turn of the century. Pomo Tierra’s main apple variety is the Gravenstein, although they now grow many other varieties as well, including Fujis, Sierra Beauties, Pink Ladies, and Golden Delicious, to name just a few.

Bob Bernstein, known by market goers as “Bernie,” is a member of the collective and a co-owner of the property, and he has managed the orchard and farm business since the early 1970’s. He asserts, “The hot summer days and cool nights of Mendocino County, along with our dry farming practices, help us produce some of the finest apples in the country.”
