Our Farmers’ Market Finder Tool Is Helping Californians Locate Healthy, Fresh Food

20140723fmfinderLast week, Bay Area Bites, the food blog arm of KQED, published a piece on our Farmers’ Market Finder tool. FMFinder.org is becoming the go-to for anyone looking for a Farmers’ Market near them in California, and its features allow CalFresh and WIC recipients to find farmers’ markets to spend their benefits. This tool is one of the ways we’re working to overcome barriers for low-income shoppers to locate and access healthy, fresh food, and in turn, supporting small farms. The fact that it’s useful for a wide range of users is an added benefit. For more about the Farmers’ Market Finder and why the Ecology Center created it, check out the write up from Bay Area Bites. We hope you use FMFinder.org when you want to locate a Farmers’ Market near you, it works on mobile, too!
