For the next two Saturdays, we’re plugged in to two family-friendly events that we would love to see you at!
First up, come to the Bay Festival at the Berkeley Marina this Saturday, April 11th from 11 am – 4 pm! Enjoy free hands-on educational activities and info from environmental organizations around the Bay. Listen to live music, take a sailboat ride or paddle a Dragon Boat. Check out building with recycled materials at the Adventure Playground. All ages are welcome. We’ll be tabling at this event with prizes and games. Fun fact: this event dates back to 1937 when the marina first opened. Get there with alternative transit: there will be abundant bike parking, take the 51B bus, or carpool. Click here for more info on this free event.
On Saturday, April 18th, a big, new Earth Day event is taking place at the David Brower Center that we are thrilled to be part of. They have planned a day of community learning opportunities, family art activities, hands-on workshops, live music, and delicious organic food – all focused on protecting and honoring the planet we call home.
Here’s the preview of what we’ll be offering at the event:
- Garden Tool Repair Clinic with the Berkeley Tool Lending Library
- Create Seed Tapes for Easy Planting
- Crafts from Paper Discards
- Recycled Textile Crafts
- Film Screening and Discussion: “The Sacred Place Where Life Begins: Gwich’in Women Speak”
We’re looking forward to being there, we hope you’ll visit and discover what this new Earth Day event is all about! Check out the full details here.
