Transition Berkeley and the Ecology Center invite you to enjoy a series of short films celebrating green transportation solutions from around the world and here in the Bay Area. Following the films we’ll brainstorm ways to encourage all of Berkeley to move beyond cars – to walk, bike and take public transit. We’ll be inspired by films from Copenhagen and Curitiba where biking, pedestrian, and public transit systems have made these cities much healthier and more enjoyable while reducing greenhouse gas emissions; and from NYC where planners are rethinking traditional bike lanes and parking spaces. We’ll also learn about a local cafe owner who loves biking and makes it a central part of his business. Bring your ideas for a green transportation public outreach campaign, as well as suggestions for practical plans Berkeley can adopt to create more livable streets. We hope you will join, this coming Tuesday, August 8th from 7 to 9 PM. For more event information, click here.
