FEMA Fire Plan for East Bay Hills

20130528hillsThe Ecology Center has been following and gathering information on FEMA’s controversial fire management plan for the East Bay hills. Bay Nature has published a thoughtful article about the issue. We look forward to hearing more from reporter Dan Rademacher on topics touched upon in the comments section, such as Garlon’s affects on amphibians and the flammability of various habitat types. FEMA’s draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) on this project is open for public comment through June 17.
