Since January, Farm Fresh Choice, the Ecology Center’s food justice program, has been attending Youth Venture’s Just Food workshops, where they have been crafting their own proposals to implement food justice ventures in the San Francisco Bay Area. Through these workshops, the youth have formulated their own action plans, each with an exciting and unique mission to promote local food justice. Farm Fresh Choice has a mission to offer nutritious food to the Bay Area through Farm Fresh Catering, a youth-led business that sets the trend for freshness in service, food presentation and taste. Farm Fresh Catering advocates for sustainability by buying produce from local farmers, and empowers its youth leaders through training in business, marketing, nutrition and food justice education. See all of the Just Food teams and their mission statements here.
