The Ecology Center and book publisher, Synergetic Press, presents the official release of Tomi Hazel Vaarde’s book, Social Forestry: Tending the Land as People of Place with an intimate book signing with renowned author, Tomi Hazel Vaarde. For anyone who is experiencing overwhelm in the face of uncertainty, eco-grief and climate anxiety about droughts, wildfires, and the continued degradation of our planet, this book is critical. It instills necessary changes to the West Coast landscape for fire mitigation and restoration of complex forest systems for generations to come, focusing on the objective of improving the rural, environmental, and social development, through ecological assessment, carbon sequestration, and generating wildcrafts so that people can re-establish their wonder in the woods.

After the book signing, there will be a special livestream viewing of Hazel’s Eco-Grief & Stewardship Conversation, an Earth Day panel featuring Starhawk.

This is a FREE event, however you can purchase your book in advance when you register, and pick-up on the day of the event for Tomi Hazel Vaarde to sign! About the Eco-Grief Panel: An intimate and inspiring conversation with Starhawk and Tomi Hazel. They are both renowned authors and elders in the eco-conscious sphere and are known for their ability to weave stories of place-based wisdom, land and community reparations, and paths towards healing ourselves together with the earth. For anyone who is experiencing overwhelm in the face of uncertainty, eco-grief and climate anxiety about droughts, wildfires, and the continued degradation of our planet, or simply those who find themselves in awe and wonder of our natural world, make sure to tune into this phenomenal panel.

Masks are encouraged but not required. Wheelchair accessible. Bike parking available.
