Volunteer to help clean up our coastline! Meet at the Shorebird Park Nature Center at 160 University Ave, anytime from 9:00 am – 12:00 am. Cleanup will take place along various areas of the Berkeley Waterfront.
Volunteers will help compile data about trash and marine debris for one of the largest research projects in the world. Stop by the Ecology Center’s booth for information about the importance of this citizen-science effort, as well as how to properly sort waste at home and at the shoreline.
Buckets, bags, and gloves will be available for volunteers. If you are able, please help to reduce plastic waste by bringing your own supplies:
- Bring a bucket or reusable bag
- Bring a lightweight pair of gardening gloves
- Bring a filled, reusable water bottle
Participants can pre-register online or register in-person on the day of the event. All participants must complete a waiver. Youth under 18 must have a waiver completed by their legal guardian.
