Slice of Our Markets
An evening rooted in local food, connection, and purpose
Experience the Berkeley Farmers’ Markets in a whole new way—through the people who grow the food, the flavors of the season, and the community that brings it all together.
A Closer Look at the Market
Begin the evening with a small-group walk through the North Berkeley Farmers’ Market, guided by Ecology Center staff. Along the way, you’ll meet farmers, learn about their growing practices, and hear what it takes to bring fresh, local food to market each week. This is a chance to slow down, ask questions, and see the market from a deeper, more connected perspective.
From Market to Table
After the tour, continue the evening at Vintage Berkeley for a relaxed, farm-driven meal. Enjoy wood-fired pizzas and seasonal dishes prepared with ingredients sourced directly from the market you just explored. The menu, created by Farmers’ Market Manager Daniel McChesney-Young (formerly of A16), highlights the diversity and quality of peak-season produce.
Pair your meal with local wine, beer, or non-alcoholic options, and enjoy time to connect with others who care about good food, local farms, and a more sustainable future.
What Your Ticket Supports
Your participation goes beyond a single evening. Proceeds support the Ecology Center’s work to operate and strengthen farmers’ markets, increase access to fresh food through programs like Market Match, and collaborate statewide through the California Alliance of Farmers’ Markets.
Together, these efforts help ensure that farmers’ markets remain vibrant, accessible, and resilient—supporting farmers, nourishing communities, and advancing a more equitable food system.
