Golden Rule Organics

In 2007, after 35 years of experience working on bigger farms, Roberto Gonzalez made the decision to farm on his own. After selling wholesale, he became frustrated with getting low prices on high quality produce. He started looking for other sources of income, like farmers’ markets. Golden Rule Organics began participating in the Ecology Center Farmers’ Markets as part of a collective and have since grown to have their own stand at both our Thursday and Saturday markets.

Roberto and his family grow a variety of vegetables, strawberries, and farm fresh eggs. They have 4 other year-round workers at the farm and they all feel like family. A fun fact about the farm is that they use tiny spiders to eat up the bad bugs on their strawberries and brussel sprouts!
