Full Belly Farm

Judith Redmond

Full Belly Farm is a diverse 360-acre organic farm located in California’s fertile Capay Valley, an hour northwest of Sacramento. Three families own the farm and work there full-time, and they are committed to providing year-round employment for their crew. They also help train the next generation of sustainable food and farming participants through an apprenticeship program.

The farm maintains habitat areas for beneficial insects and wildlife and integrates crop production with long-term environmental stewardship. In addition to production, Full Belly is home to many activities, including educational tours, school groups and the annual Hoes Down Harvest Festival, a fundraiser for community organizations. Full Belly Farm aims to produce the highest quality food possible, and to foster long-term mutually beneficial relationships with their customers.
