Zoom in on Berkeley’s Measure HH: Climate Equity Action Fund
Wednesday | October 14, 2020 | 6:00 pm — 7:00 pm
As the effects of climate change ravage California, Berkeley voters will have the chance to take action by voting to create the Climate Equity Action Fund. If passed, Measure HH will generate $2.4 million per year “to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases, increase participation of low income, disadvantaged, and vulnerable populations in climate action programs, and reduce the impacts of climate change on the City’s low income and most vulnerable populations,” while cutting taxes for low-income households.
Join the Ecology Center, Council Member Kate Harrison, and the Berkeley Measure HH Campaign for a virtual “House Party” to learn more about this critical, historic, and timely measure that takes local action on the urgent climate crisis.
We’ll join together on Zoom to hear from experts and community leaders about the importance of Measure HH, and how to engage, support, and help to pass this critical initiative on November 3rd. The panel discussion will be livestreamed on Facebook and will conclude with a live, moderated Q&A session.
Hosted by Ecology Center Executive Director, Martin Bourque, featuring speakers:
Kate Harrison, Berkeley City Council Member, District 4
Dan Kammen, Director of the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory, Professor UCB
Karma Smart, Community Health Commissioner, City of Berkeley
Ashley McClure, Physician and Co-Founder of Climate Health Now!
