Worms Eat My Garbage: A Workshop on Worm Composting at Home
Saturday | February 22, 2020 | 11:00 am — 1:30 pm
Ecology Center | 2530 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94702
Worm composting is a great way to turn your food scraps into a nutrient-rich fertilizer that can be used for house and garden plants (learn more about using compost in your garden). A pound of red worms can eat 65 pounds of food scraps in less than three months!
This FREE worm compost workshop will show you an easy way to transform your food scraps into plant food with the help of red wiggler worms. This hands-on workshop with StopWaste staff, Jeannie Pham, will cover the benefits and uses of worm composting.
We will walk through how to set up a bin, do basic maintenance, harvest and how to use the worm castings. Worm composting is especially useful (and easy) for those living in apartments or with limited space! Plus, it’s an efficient and beneficial way to reduce food waste.
