“Wilder than Wild” Wildfire Documentary & Discussion

Thursday | January 31, 2019 | 6:00 pm — 8:00 pm

San Leandro Main Library | 300 Estudillo Ave, San Leandro, CA

Visit the San Leandro Public Library to watch this fascinating one-hour documentary that reveals how fire suppression and climate change have exposed our forests and wildland-urban landscapes to large, high-severity wildfires, and explores strategies to mitigate the impact of these fires. Admission is free and no reservation is necessary.

What can we do as communities and individuals to prepare for future
fires? What role does urban planning, forest management and climate
change adaptation play? These and other questions from the audience will be discussed by a panel after the screening. The panel includes filmmaker Kevin White, Producer/Writer Stephen Most, Sally Barros of the City of San Leandro Department of Public Works/ Office of Sustainability, and Division Chief John Walsh from Alameda County Fire Department.
