Where Does Our Water Come From? w. Nina Gordon-Kirsch
Monday | March 02, 2020 | 6:30 pm — 8:30 pm
Urban Adamah Farm | 1151 Sixth St, Berkeley, CA 94710
Do you ever wonder where the water in your tap comes from? Or where it goes after you flush? Or how is it that we can have drinking water wherever we go in California, even in deserts like Los Angeles or saltwater bound peninsulas like San Francisco? Nina invites you to hop on her raft as she guides the boat into the complexities of California’s water systems. We will touch on the bigger picture of state-wide CA water, and then hone in on local Bay Area water sources. Come with lots of questions and being OK with no answer. And don’t forget your towel! 😉 About the Speaker: Nina is a Berkeley native, outdoor enthusiast, and self-proclaimed Water Warrior. She works part time doing water quality monitoring, part time installing residential greywater systems, and full time educating folks on where their water comes from. Next year she’ll be following the call of the Waters and backpacking her way from Oakland to the Headwaters of where EBMUD sources our East Bay tap water from.Visit Event Website >>
