Water Warriors: Defending Rivers in a Time of Resistance

Friday | October 13, 2017 | 6:00 pm — 8:30 pm

Join us next week as we share stories, drinks, and amazing artwork all in honor of environmental defenders from around the world who are standing up for their rivers!

Water is essential for life on earth. We owe so much to those who work, often under threat and in obscurity, to protect and restore our waterways. At International Rivers, we are dedicated to a future that brings together communities around the world for the protection of our shared water resources.

International Rivers’ campaigners from our South Africa, Brazil, Thailand, China and India offices will be hosting a creative evening. We’ll have a short documentary screening about the largest desert lake on earth – Lake Turkana – and the youth movement in Kenya that is saving the lake and its tributary river from drying up. Stories from the global river protection movement will follow.

Please help us spread the word! Share, invite, and bring friends. $10 suggested donation at the door, no one turned away for lack of funds. We hope to see you there!
