Garden for the Environment | Lawton Street at 7th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94122
There is a huge movement to keep small farm animals in backyards across the nation. By keeping chickens, you can increase the health of your garden and produce even more of your own food. In this workshop, we’ll walk you through the steps to setting up your flock, review different coop designs, and give an overview of chicken husbandry so you can keep your birds healthy. You will even have the opportunity to hug our expert instructors’ very own backyard chickens!
Instructors Jamie & Blas tend a small homestead in San Francisco with their two little girls, complete with honey bees, chickens, greenhouse, mini orchard and vegetables. Blas has a degree in environmental studies and a certificate in sustainable design from the Urban Permaculture Institute of San Francisco and Jamie is a certified Master Gardener.Visit Event Website >>
