In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Students of Color Environmental Collective @ UC Berkeley, we are hosting a BIPOC Earth Day Festival! This event (inspired by a People of Color Earth Day Celebration held in Richmond, CA in 1995) will take place on Sunday April 13th, 2025 and will be a half-day celebration honoring BIPOC voices, labor, and legacies in the environmental movement
The festival will feature guest speakers, performers, tabling by local organizations, a BIPOC eco-art exhibition, and food, amongst other planned offerings. We hope this will bring together our SCEC alumni community from the past 10 years, current students/faculty/staff, and local groups doing environmental justice & BIPOC-centered work
We encourage folks to dress to impress themselves, wearing whatever makes you feel most yourself. We also encourage you to shop your closet (and extra points if your fit is thrifted)
