Slow Food East Bay’s Cultural Food Traditions Project: Senegal with Nafy Flatley

On Sunday January 26, in the depths of the dark cold winter, join Slow Food East Bay for a delicious Senegalese meal & conversation with chef Nafy Flatley. We’ll eat mafe and fonio and mangos (most likely with our hands!)‚ and discuss how to raise 1st generation Americans to respect and honor their cultural foodways while living far from family and homeland. Our beneficiary for the evening is Street Level Health Project, a grass-roots organization providing wrap-around services of healthcare, food access, job safety training and social service referrals. Join us for the food, and leave nourished by the conversation!
