People over Plastic’s July Happy Hour
Wed, July 26, 2023 5:00 pm – 6:15 pm
SHACK15 1 Ferry Building #Suite 201 (Conference Room 007) San Francisco, CA 94111
This monthly mixer is designed as a fun and welcoming monthly mixer where folks interested in racial justice, sustainability and healthy communities can meet.
People over Plastic is a media platform that centers on the intersection between environmental and racial justice. We have a nonprofit newsroom and we also produce live events that we call storytelling salons. Our organization features compelling stories of Black Indigenous People Of Color communities who are fighting for their homes, health, and environment. These stories don’t typically make the headlines. We document them through powerful, intergenerational, and solutions-oriented conversations.
Live your values and come see how you can get involved as a volunteer. Over the past three months, our organization has been focusing on telling the true story of petrochemicals, a critical issue that is affecting communities across the globe. Our aim is to raise awareness and change the narrative on plastics and plastic production by examining the entire toxic lifecycle that harms Black & Indigenous communities. For more about our newsroom, check out some of our stories here: www.peopleoverplastic/co/news.
We hope to see you at this our first monthly mixer!
People over Plastic’s executive and managing directors will be in attendance.
