Materials and Resources: Human Health in LEED

Wednesday | July 30, 2014 | 5:30 pm — 8:00 pm

Perhaps the most drastic and debated update to the LEED v4 rating system takes place within the Materials & Resources Credit Category. In alignment with the LEED v4 focus on performance and holistic sustainability, the LEED v4 Materials & Resources section has a refined focus on Building Product Disclosure and Optimization—calling for transparency around the lifecycle of products. No longer will using recycled content and regional materials satisfy your Materials credits. Now manufacturers, contractors and LEED professionals alike must consider the way materials are manufactured, chosen and specified, with the goal of making more informed decisions that will have greater overall benefit for the environment and human health. This class will discuss the main changes in the new LEED v4 Materials & Resources credits.
