Leafy Greens & How to Cook Them

Chef Alison Mountford of Ends & Stems, returns to the Ecology Center Classroom to lead this workshop and show you how to maximize the life of your greens. When your leafy greens are fresh and stored correctly, you will have more time to enjoy what you have purchased instead of throwing it away. After your stocks are made, Chef Alison will show you some of her favorite recipes that using this healthy triad greens

The food we throw in the garbage has used energy and water to be produced, fuel for transport and resources used for packaging. Once in the landfill, food produces methane—a greenhouse gas even more potent than carbon dioxide. This class will show you how to make a difference!

Chef Alison Mountford

Chef Alison Mountford is the founder of Ends + Stems, a meal planning service with the goal of creating meals that have a meaningful impact on your life and your planet. A graduate of the San Francisco Culinary Institute, Chef Alison is passionate about helping others reduce their food waste by sharing meal planning, shopping, cooking and storing techniques.
