LAND, LOCAL FOOD, AND LIBERATION: A Conversation with Leah Penniman and Dr. Ashanté M. Reese

Join us for a stimulating conversation with Leah Penniman–co-founder of Soul Fire Farm and author of Farming While Black: Soul Fire Farm’s Practical Guide to Liberation on the Land–and Dr. Ashanté M. Reese–professor and author of Black Food Geographies: Race, Self-Reliance, and Food Access in Washington, D.C. They will discuss historical and contemporary anti-black racism in the food system; food access in urban and rural communities; locally-owned and driven solutions; and moments of joy, inspiration and strength. The conversation will be followed by a book signing and reception with drinks and small bites.
