Krafting the Kraut: Hands-On Harvest Workshop
Sunday | November 25, 2018 | 11:30 am — 12:30 pm
Ecology Center Classroom | 2530 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94702
It’s cabbage season! And where there’s cabbage, there’s kraut. Join us at the Ecology Center to learn how to take fresh heads of cabbage and make fermented Sauerkraut! Each student will leave with their very own jar of kraut, as well as the knowledge to continue their fermentation journey at home. The ingredients will be organic and locally sourced from the Berkeley Farmers’ Market, and the jars will be sourced from the Ecology Center Store.
Sauerkraut is an excellent accompaniment to many meals, aids in digestion due to its live cultures, and is very tasty!
This workshop is part of our Hands-on Harvest Series, teaching people how to make the most of what’s in season and avoid food waste. Workshop attendees will receive discounts on Ecology Center Store preservation and fermentation products.Visit Event Website >>
