Herbs and Spices for Longevity

Herbs and spices are some of the most powerful foods in the culinary pharmacy. They contain compounds that help reduce inflammation, support the immune system, and turn off genes of disease. In this culinary nutrition workshop we will lean how to make herb pestos, herb-infused vinegar and oil, and a warming tulsi chai tea. All participants will sample the pestos, vinegar, and oil, and make their own tulsi chai tea blend to take home.
Instructor Carly Wertheim, MS is a nutritionist, health-supportive chef, and food educator. She is the founder of Carly’s Wellness Kitchen, which offers nutrition counseling, immersive culinary experiences, food-as-medicine workshops, and personal-chef services in the Bay Area. Carly received a Masters of Science in Nutrition from Columbia University and completed her culinary training at the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City.
