Our executive director Allen Harthorn will host. We are beyond excited to have New Zealand filmmaker Karthic SS join us to talk about making “Sniper,” the story of former ranger Leith Thompson and his dog Sniper who is trained to track and rescue injured endangered Yellow-eyed Penguins and to find their nests for tracking and safe-keeping. We are also delighted to have Northern California filmmaker Matthew Ritenour attending whose film “Hammer Dam” shows local Harold Hammer making the choice to blow up a dam on his own property to open up his creek for salmonid migration. We are receiving phenomenal donations that will be available by live auction, including signed books by Jennifer Jewell, Gregory Crouch, Dr. Benjamin Madley, Melina Watts.and a set of all six books by Carl Safina. Join us for a fun event that will help us be together even when we’re apart and become a member, a supporter and one of the Friends of Butte Creek.
