The StopWaste Environmental Educator Training (SWEET) is a six week training, outreach and certification program. Students receive instruction in compost and soil science, sheet mulching, sustainable gardening techniques and community outreach and education. The application deadline is August 16. Space is limited, so apply today!
Classes meet one night weekly, September 6 – October 25, and there will be two Saturday field classes. Students pay a $50 fee, which may be waived upon request. Students receive sheet mulch, compost and garden-related resource materials and books. Certification depends on class attendance and completion of two hours of internship and 10 additional hours of community outreach. SWEET grads will be eligible for continuing education through three-hour modules on Food Waste Reduction, Home Composting and Gardening with Edibles.Visit Event Website >>
