Chicken Health

Sunday | March 10, 2019 | 2:00 pm — 4:30 pm

Private Residence in Berkeley | Berkeley, CA 94706

Learn how to examine your chicken and what to look for if they are acting sick or hurt. The instructor will bring one of her chickens to demo on. We’ll cover the most common health problems and what to keep in your flock first aid kit for holistic and traditional care. We’ll discuss prevention through nutrition and mixing your own feed and feed supplements. We’ll also talk about predators, bio-security, and behavioral issues in order to answer your most pressing chicken questions. And we will host the class in a backyard of Berkeley with a beautiful chicken coop, so you can get a sense of safe and secure coops for your chickens.

Instructor: Jacquelyn Frost has been raising and training animals of all shapes and sizes for over 20 years, with chickens being her latest adventure. She has been known to direct unsuspecting conversation partners into talking about backyard chicken keeping.
