CEJA Presents: A Green Zones Webinar and Press Briefing
Tuesday | December 04, 2018 | 3:00 pm — 4:30 pm
The California Environmental Justice Alliance (CEJA) launched a Green Zones Initiative website and report that demonstrate how people-powered planning is bringing affordable housing, clean air, and sustainable and equitable development to nine communities across California.
Calgreenzones.org lifts up the policies, people and places featured in CEJA’s Green Zones 2018 report with new updates, in-depth interviews and policy guidance. A comprehensive resource for community advocates, city planners and reporters opens up the sometimes esoteric field of land-use planning, using real world examples that have made a difference in people’s lives.
This expert panel webinar briefing will feature Tiffany Eng (CEJA), Carolina Martinez (Environmental Health Coalition—San Diego), Chelsea Tu (Center on Race Poverty and the Environment—Delano) and Ashley Werner (Leadership Counsel for Justice and Accountability—Fresno). The briefing will address recent developments in Green Zones initiatives in the southern San Joaquin Valley, the San Diego region, West Fresno, and across the state through Transformative Climate Communities (AB 2722 Burke) and the Planning for Healthy Communities Act (SB 1000 Leyva).
