California Coastal Cleanup Day 2026

A Community Effort We’re Proud to Support

California Coastal Cleanup Day brings communities together to protect our beaches, bays, and waterways. The Ecology Center is proud to support this statewide day of action and to show up at the Berkeley Waterfront alongside volunteers, partners, and neighbors who make local sustainability real and people powered.

On Saturday, September 19 from 9am to 12pm, we will be tabling at Shorebird Park Nature Center with the City of Berkeley Zero Waste field representatives. We will share resources, answer questions, and connect with everyone helping to care for our shoreline.

Cleanup activities will take place across the Berkeley Waterfront from Shorebird Park to Brickyard Cove and Aquatic Park. Supplies, safety talks, and kid friendly conservation games will be available on site. Volunteers will also contribute to a statewide citizen science effort that tracks marine debris and informs future environmental policy.

We invite you to join us, bring your friends, and choose a car free route if you can. Together, we can keep our coastline healthy, resilient, and thriving for generations to come.
