Join us Friday, March 13, 2026, from 6 to 8 pm at the Ecology Center EcoStore for the 25th Annual BASIL Seed Swap! 

Trade seeds. Swap stories. Connect with fellow garden enthusiasts.

Learn about seed saving and local seed libraries directly from community and urban farmers. Whether you are experienced or just starting out, you will gain practical knowledge and expand your seed collection. This is the right time to exchange locally grown seeds. Find native plants and seasonal vegetables just before the growing season begins. Keep seeds in community hands. Strengthen local food systems. Build biodiversity and food security together. 

Enjoy live acoustic music throughout the evening. Sip tea generously donated by Traditional Medicinals. Meet Christopher Shein, co-founder of BASIL, and pick up a signed copy of The Vegetable Gardener’s Guide to Permaculture. 

We ask that you bring seeds you have collected. Label and date them clearly. Make sure they are clean and ready to plant. Due to limited capacity, we will not be able to process or clean seeds at the event. 

To support food security and community care, bring a dish to share potluck style! Label your dish with all ingredients. Bring your own serving utensils. Compostable plates and utensils will be available. If you can, bring reusable foodware.
