The core idea of the Alan Chadwick Legacy Project is to document the living legacy of this remarkable man. Chadwick’s ideas about nurturing and healing the earth need to be heard and discussed now. Building soils, increasing crop yields organically, and access to fresh, local foods are key to the sustainability the world needs today more than ever. Hundreds of Chadwick apprentices heard this message and many of them are carrying on his vision for the garden, humanity, and the earth in their lives. The success of his apprentices in mentoring still others, along with the sheer power of Chadwick’s personality and ideas, has led subsequent generations to embrace him and many of his gardening concepts and practices. To truly document the living legacy, we plan to add the voices of new generations of apprentices to the Talking Chadwick program.
