The Multicultural Institute (MI) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 1991. Their mission is to be a stepping stone that helps society transition immigrants from poverty and isolation to prosperity and participation.
Since 2002, the Multicultural Institute has assisted economically disadvantaged adults in acquiring vocational, social, and educational skills that will lead to self-sufficiency throughout the East Bay and Mid-Peninsula. Now working with day laborers in three sites, participants come from Richmond, Berkeley, and Oakland in the East Bay and North Fair Oaks/Redwood City area of San Mateo County.
