Organizes Indigenous Peoples Day in Berkeley. Set up as a joint effort of the City Council and the School Board: “to develop, recommend and implement activities for the 500th anniversary of Columbus’ first voyage that conform to the Berkeley Human Rights Ordinance, the U.N. Charter, and the civil liberties guarantees in the California constitution.”
