An independent special use district providing park and recreation services for residents living within a 64 square-mile area which includes the City of Hayward, Castro Valley, San Lorenzo and the unincorporated Ashland, Cherryland and Fairview districts. Includes two locations that serve as full-service nature centers, the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center, and the Sulphur Creek Nature Center (510) 881-6747. Sulphur Creek Nature Center offers a wildlife rehabilitation program, among other things.
