An active research collection of over 5,000,000 terrestrial arthropods. The Essig Museum is primarily a research facility that is not open to the public. However, they host two open houses during the year and a small display of insects outside the museum is available for viewing anytime the building is open. Researchers are welcome to visit the collection by appointment.
