In addition to parks and open space, the department manages Marin Center (and the Marin Center Box Office), Marin Civic Center Concessions (including a gift shop), the Marin County Conventions and Visitors Bureau, and the Marin County Fair. Parks run by the county range from redwood forest areas to coastal beach. Recreation opportunities include picnicking, tennis, softball, equestrian and hiking trails, a fishing pier, a model-car race track, and play grounds.
