Nonprofit citizens’ lobby in the California Legislature and local levels. Consists of public education, research and advocacy programs dedicated to conservation. Established in 1977 as a nonprofit grassroots organization, relies on individual donations for over 90% of operating funds, and are the only environmental group in California with a full-time lobbying staff working on recycling issues.
