Worm Composting Workshop with Urban Worm, 9/15/13

20130910worms The next event in our “Soil in the City” series focuses on one of the most beneficial species for building healthy soil – worms! In addition to their many benefits, worm compost systems are low maintenance and don’t need a lot of space, making them ideal for urban residents.

Join us for a free community worm composting workshop with our neighbors at the Urban Adamah farm. You will learn how to set up a home vermicomposting system, care for your worms, and harvest castings from your bin. Everything you need to begin worm composting at home will be available for purchase including red wigglers, bins, coconut coir bedding, oyster flour and finished worm castings. After the workshop, feel free to stick around and check out the worm farm and the notorious “worminator”- the device used to harvest the worms.

This workshop is free, but RSVP is requested. Click here for full event details and contact info to reserve your spot.
