Love pickled vegetables? Learn to make your own! It’s easy, affordable, incredibly healthy, and maybe slightly addictive. Talk with any fermentation enthusiast and you might get a glimpse that pickled vegetables is a gateway into the wild, macrobiotic world of cultured foods. Coming up, Saturday, May 2nd, we have a free event that we hope will be your gateway! We’re partnering with Phat Beetz Youth Pickle Co., the makers of the Pickler, an affordable fermentation kit to share just how easy, and delicious, fermenting can be. This pickle company provides employment opportunities for graduates from the Fresh Fellows Youth Food Justice Program to make value added products like pickles and jams. The event will be an introduction to wild fermentation, and everyone is welcome. We’ll be sharing some of the culture behind making kraut, along with a hands-on, step-by-step demonstration on how to make sauerkraut using the pickler kit.
Come to our Store, Saturday, May 2nd from 1-3 PM to dip your fingers in! We hope to see you there, for more details, click here.
