We’re Hiring for Youth Positions, Administrative Associate, Lead Farmers’ Market Manager & Events Coordinator – Apply Soon!

We’re also looking for part time and full time staff in our Education & Engagement and Food & Farming programs. Brief details for these positions are below.

YOUTH INTERNSHIP

The Youth Internship is a paid training and internship program that combines leadership and professional development with hands-on green job training. Interns report to the Youth Development Program Manager, and explore issues of environmental justice, food justice and sustainability during their internship. Youth Interns support youth leadership within the Ecology Center’s Youth Environmental Academy.

YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT

The Youth Program Assistant position is a year-long employment opportunity that combines leadership and professional development with hands-on green job training. Youth Program Assistants report to the Youth Development Program Manager. Youth Program Assistants should be prepared for intense career/academic planning and leadership training. The Youth Program Assistant supports youth event planning, training on environmental literacy, administrative tasks and communications for youth interns. Youth Program Assistants support the Farm Fresh Choice Program, with responsibilities including coordination and oversight of the community produce stands – set-up and break-down, supervising youth interns, market sales, and cash handling.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOCIATE

The Administrative Associate serves as the first line of engagement for our public space, directing visitors and assisting the public with their requests and needs. This position provides office and facilities support to Ecology Center staff, assists in coordinating volunteers, and supports the operations of the Education and Engagement Program. The Administrative Associate reports to the Education and Engagement Program Manager.

LEAD MARKET MANAGER & EVENTS COORDINATOR

The Lead Market Manager and Events Coordinator (LMMEC) manages farmers’ markets, leads planning, coordination and execution of farmers’ market special events, prepares deposits, and provides general administrative support between markets. The LMMEC manages the North Berkeley Farmers’ Market site and assistant manages the South Berkeley Farmers’ Market and provides backup management assistance for the other Ecology Center farmers’ markets.
