Eggplants, lemongrass and herbs, onion and garlic, and many kinds of greens are a small sample of the abundance added to California’s agriculture by Hmong farmers in the Central Valley. Shoppers at our Saturday farmers’ market know one of these farms, Vang Family Farm, for their huge variety of delicious and unique produce. The Vang’s had a chance to show their work to the world in a recent video with Mark Bittman. The video shows the role farmers’ markets play in helping farmers like Bentley Vang reach customers and make a living, even with limited access to other resources.
