Plastic-Free Living Workshop with Beth Terry, 6/8/13

20130530plasticYou’ve heard the news, read the stories, and detected a difference. Now you’d like to find even more ways to get plastic out of your life. It’s easier (and more fun) than you may think! In this workshop, author and community activist Beth Terry will lay out pathways for replacing plastic with less harmful materials. From food containers to personal care items, clothing, and durable goods–all can have a better story for your body and the environment. Participants can perform a personal waste audit by saving up personal plastic trash for at least 3 days and have a guided analysis of what that pile means.

We’ll be raffling off a special plastic-free product from our Store, and as always the Ecology Center’s Info Desk staff will be on hand to provide local resources for finding do-it-yourself supplies and local organizations that help and inspire. Beth Terry is author of the book Plastic Free: How I Kicked the Plastic Habit and How You Can Too and the blog MyPlasticFreeLife.com and is the foremost expert on alternatives to consumer plastics.
