Kirk’s T-Shirts Are on Display at Berkeley Historical Society

20130530kirkA familiar sight to anyone who attends Farmers’ Market events, Kirk Lumpkin’s collection of vintage Ecology Center t-shirts are now a part of Berkeley history. The Berkeley Historical Society has included them in an exhibit “Berkeley: From Farm to Urban Farming 1850 – 2013.” Here’s a description of the exhibit from Berkeley Historical Society: “The exhibit highlights the farms, dairies, nurseries, and orchards that dotted the land before Berkeley was founded and chronicle the continued importance of agriculture in Berkeley’s life today through the community farm and urban farm movements. The exhibit will feature photographs, maps, objects, and first-hand accounts in documenting the transitions.”
The exhibit runs until September, but the Historical Society has limited hours: Thurs – Sat from 1 – 4 PM. Check out their website for more details: http://www.berkeleyhistoricalsociety.org/
